Elsie Harmse, Founder and Managing Director of Africa Skills Private College, attended the International Maxwell Certification in Orlando in August this year.
Elsie chanted the mantra “I am not good enough” up to the age of 27 but then her life did a 180° turn when she realised that what she had always believed about herself – wasn’t true gospel.
In her speech at the international event she mentioned four cardinal steps that will change the direction of your life:
- Identify a situation and an emotion;
- Determine what you believe regarding yourself;
- Repent to God for believing the lie; and finally:
- Ask: ‘Lord, what is the truth? How do YOU perceive me?”
“We have the desire to do something of significance, transform lives and carry out the work of our leader, John C. Maxwell, continue his legacy, and leave an impact of our own”
According to Elsie, a seasoned business owner, entrepreneur and dynamic woman in her own right – she has never been more inspired to learn and grow after the live event in Orlando.
Elsie’s purpose as a certified John Maxwell Trainer, Coach and Speaker is to:
- Make a difference;
- Do something that makes a difference;
- With people who make a difference; and
- At a time that makes a difference.
If you can connect with others – one-on-one, in groups, and with an audience – your sense of community improves, your ability to create teamwork increases, and your influence skyrockets! People who connect with others have better relationships, experience less conflict, and get more things done than those who are unable to connect. Leaders who have learned the art of connection are able to communicate their ideas persuasively, establishing buy-in and attracting followers.
The John Maxwell Team is an international group of Maxwell Certified Coaches, Trainers, Speakers and Professionals, offering workshops, seminars, and keynote speaking, and coaching to aid in personal and professional growth to individuals, organisations and companies worldwide. John Maxwell has a building named after him and his family at Indiana Wesleyan University, the Maxwell Centre for Business and Leadership, as a result of his influence on the Wesleyan Church, the owner of the university. In 2015, he was inducted into the IWU Society of World Changers, where he was honoured with an honorary doctorate degree. John Maxwell was named the No. 1 leadership and management expert in the world by Inc. Magazine.
This is Elsie Harmse’s heart to Equip, Empower and Excel leaders and the public at large.
